I have lived in Argentina for many years. Be careful riding in the tourist class of trains, frankly you shouldn’t do it. There is crime. If you insist on it, never display any electronic equipment and dress plainly. The Pullman (best class day coach) is safe. There is an attendant and the other passengers are kept out.

  2. Molly McHugh says:

We have ridden tourist class a few times and haven’t had problems – the attendents do come through it as well – but I have heard of folks being robbed on the night train from BA to MDP. During the day it is as safe as anything else I think, can get robbed in Pullman too!
