If traveling through Salto, Uruguay with kids in tow, or simply the young at heart type an afternoon at AcuaMania Waterpark – located next to Termas del Dayman municipal thermal pools – is time well spent.

The park is small but well-designed for an enjoyable afternoon for the whole family with large open-air sit-down restaurant and many snack kiosks.

Important to note – the water used in the pools is warm, even during Salto’s blistering hot summer months January and February. There are a few cold water attractions, such as “Tanque Loco”. Sit underneath the giant tub, wait for it to fill with ice-cold water then pour over you. Ahhhhhhh. Perfect way to cool off.
