Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake and second largest lake in South America bordering the countries Peru and Boliva. It covers 3,200 sq miles (8,300 sq km) and is approximately 120 miles (190 km) long by 50 miles (80 km) wide.

The largest lake in South America is Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela (5,100 sq miles/13,210 sq km).
