Need a flight plus hotel room for cheap? I found on Expedia.co.uk round trip airfare from London to Buenos Aires plus six nights in a boutique hotel in the Recoleta neighborhood for only 1180 British pounds ($1,888 USD), booking one month in advance. Worth a check as well.

How to Book a Hotel or Hostel

It is fairly straight-forward to use an online booking service. You canĀ“t see available rooms first-hand or negotiate the price but you will have the piece of mind of knowing there is a bed waiting for you when you arrive at whatever time of day or night.

To make a reservation simply scroll through the listings and find a hotel or hostel that suits you, click on their link and make a reservation for your date of arrival and length of stay. You should then receive confirmation of your reservation via email; not a bad idea to have a copy of when arriving at your chosen location.

HostelWorld – Popular with backpackers around the world the site contains over 25,000 listings of hostels in more than 180 countries. There is a “100% Booking Guarantee”. If for any reason you arrive at your chosen hostel and your reservation is not in place, they not only refund your deposit… they give you $50 USD to use on future bookings. Sweet!

Booking.com – Need a hotel? Here is the place to look and make your purchase. Booking.com has over 170.000 options for you to choose from worldwide. Exclusive resorts, country B&Bs, 2-5 star in-city establishments… you name it and they provide a selection of properties to meet your needs (more high-end hotels, few hostals). There is no booking fee.

Hostelbookers.com – Another top competitor in the low-cost hotel/hostel online booking arena. At HostelBookers there is no booking fee or required registration, and prices are around 8% less than HostelWorld. There is no booking guarantee though has an excellent reputation for service and reliability.

Hostels.com – If you want to search these three ‘top dog’ online booking services for backpackers and price compare, Hostels.com should have a selection of listings similar to HostelWorld and HostelBookers. They also have a Worldwide Tours & Activities search engine for select areas that may be helpful in planning what to do after you arrive. These can be booked online in advance also.

Get ready to have a stress-free travel adventure. Make your hostel or hotel booking online with our free South America Travel Guides or independently so when you arrive you can focus all your attention on enjoying the sites, taking a tour or two and having fabulous meals out on the town. Enjoy.
