Peru’s GDP per capita is growing like a weed, potentially doubling to 10,000 by 2020 or earlier (Source: Peruvian Times). Plans to expand tourism are also in the works with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism planning stating: “…70% of foreign visitors only come to see Cusco or Machu Picchu. However there are potentially 20 or 30 more Machu Picchus.”
